BIRCWH is a mentored career development program that aims to increase the number of women’s health and sex differences investigators.
Specialized Centers of Research (SCOR) on Sex Differences
SCOR is an interdisciplinary research program focusing on sex differences and major medical conditions affecting women.

Opportunities at UAB

Faculty Development Grants in Sex Differences & Women's Health

UAB Faculty Development grants provide seed money for research, teaching and service related projects. This year, separate funds are also available to support up to 3 additional grants in the area of women's health and sex differences research using funds provided by the National Library of Medicine. Learn more about the UAB Faculty Development Grant Program at their website. The deadline for grant submissions was April 1st. The winners will be announced this fall through the Faculty Development Grant Program.

ORWH developed this funding opportunity for investigators interested in all areas of women’s health and sex differences research such as breast cancer, colon cancer, reproductive health, diabetes, obesity, HPV, cardiovascular disease, microbial exposures across the lifespan of women, and mental health.

The ORWH supports basic and clinical research related to women’s health and sex differences research through the NIH Institutes and Centers.
