Keeping Track of Impact

i10-Index – number of publications with at least 10 citations and only used by Google Scholar.

ResearchGate – make an account and track the “reads”  for articles but this also only works if the articles are read in ResearchGate

h-index – or Hirsch index

• Can be different in different databases because databases include both different journals and different years. 
• found in Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar

Altmetrics

• article level metric effort at qualitative data to compliment citation counts. 
• They can include everything from peer reviews on Faculty of 1000 to mentions on social network.

Symplectic

• compendium of number of databases centered around author/researcher
• encourages users to know what they are looking at and what the number communicates.   

Faculty Opinions  

• track the recommendations of articles if reviewed
• faculty (peer) recommendations of articles in biology and medicine. 
• 32 disciplines and about 3700 journals.
