American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

ASME is a "professional organization focused on technical, educational and research issues of the engineering and technology community."  It "holds numerous technical conferences worldwide" and "sets internationally recognized industrial and manufacturing codes and standards that enhance public safety."

SAE International

This is an international organization serving the needs of those involved in the "designing, building, maintaining, and operating self-propelled vehicles for use on land or sea, in air or space."

Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME)

SME is the world's largest manufacturing engineering association. Its purpose is "to advance manufacturing knowledge . . . through its on-line resources, professional development programs, publications, expositions, certification, conferences and other products and services."
