Newspapers can be a wonderful source of both primary and secondary information. For primary research, make sure the articles come from the actual time period of the event or person you're researching. They can give you first hand accounts of events, people, places, etc., but they can also provide an excellent view of the environment surrounding your research subject.
The following is merely a small sampling of the newspapers available to you either through library subscriptions or openly available through the Web. New digitized collections are popping up all the time, so please check back from time to time to see if any have been added. If you have any questions about particular newspapers, please don't hesitate to ask.
