1. Read the White House Fact Sheet about three new national monuments

2. Find the following information through a web search:

  • a list of the national monuments in the United States
  • names of the national historic monuments in Jefferson County, Alabama (excluding the new Birmingham Civil Rights National Monument).

 

3. Search LexisNexis Academic database

Search the LexisNexis Academic database for articles about one of the previously-designated national historic monuments in Jefferson County.

What are the article title, author, publication, and date for one of the articles you found?

4. Think about organizations to contact for local angle

What local (city, county, state) organizations might you contact to get additional information for an article about the economic impact of the newly-designated National Monument in Birmingham?
