You will need to activate an account in order to download or upload data from ICPSR. Follow these instructions to create an ICPSR account and login. To login, click on the Login button on the main ICPSR page and navigate to "Access through your institution" button. This will take you through the UAB single sign on process.

Yes. Click on the "Access through your institution" button and select "University of Alabama at Birmingham." This will take you to the UAB SSO window where you can enter your Blazer ID and password. The process is a secure dual authentication.
Yes, ICPSR allows you to sign in with Google, LinkedIn, or ORCID accounts but we recommend you set up your account using your UAB credentials.
MyData is being phased out. In 2023, ICPSR transitioned to a new login system called Research Passport which allows single sign on using your Blazer ID and password. You can still access your account if you previously used MyData account. Follow these directions to migrate from MyData to the new system.
No, anyone can set up an account. If you're a current UAB faculty, staff or student with a valid BlazerID and password you will never be asked to pay for anything you download from ICPSR.
