About Google Advanced Search

Google is a search engine, meaning it is an application that conducts web searches. While it is not a database, it functions similarly and allows for both basic and advanced searching.

To conduct a more detailed and limited search in Google select "Settings" in the navigation bar and then select "Advanced Search." On the advanced search page, you can limit the search using options like exact phrasing, last updated, language, and file type (For more information, see Refine Web Searches.)
