About Google Scholar & Full Text @ UAB Libraries

You may want to supplement your databases searching with Google Scholar. It searches across many disciplines and sources: peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts and articles, from academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories, universities and other scholarly organizations.

The advanced search includes many options, including the ability to limit by author, title, publication fields, date, country (to access the advanced search click on the menu in the top left side of the screen).

Full Text @ UAB Libraries

When you are working on campus, Google Scholar should provide links for each item labelled Full Text @ UAB. These lead you to full text of articles or to the UAB Libraries Search.

You can also set up Google Scholar so that you can get to the Find It @ UAB link from home. To do this, take the following steps:

  • Go to Google Scholar
  • Click on Settings, a link at the of the top of the page.
  • Then choose Library links (left hand column)
  • Type in UAB Libraries, click on Find Library, and select "UAB Libraries--Full Text @ UAB"

Shows where under settings to look on Google Scholar to find 'Library Links" and add your institution (UAB).
