KIN 136: Intro to Physical Education Fitness and Sport

The UAB Center for Exercise Medicine (UCEM) focuses on improving the health and well-being of children and adults of all ages through acceleration of innovative, exercise-based interdisciplinary research across five pillars – precision, regeneration, rehabilitation, interaction, and sustainability.

The Diabetes Research Center (DRC) focuses on developing new methods to treat, prevent, and ultimately cure diabetes and its complications. The DRC is a multidisciplinary operation with faculty researchers from UAB's schools of Health Professions, Medicine, and Public Health, among other units. It operates in collaboration with the UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center to promote excellence in diabetes research and patient care.

The Integrative Center for Aging Research (ICAR) strives to provide a one-stop solution for aging researchers at UAB, providing support for research, education, and for the development of the new generation of aging researchers. ICAR is also a hub for communication and exchange with local communities.

The UAB Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging provides services, resources, consultation, and training for investigators performing research on the basic biology of aging. The Center exists to assist scientists in pursuing research focused on the interplay of aging, comparative biology, and energetics. Its goal is to act as a multiplier to stimulate innovation and increase the success of scientists studying the basic biology of aging.

AEA is the Alabama chapter of the National Education Association (NEA), promoting advocacy for and advancement of equitable and quality public education in Alabama.

ACOE is a professional educator organization not affiliated with a national organization focused on "putting children first" in Alabama education.

This partnership allows for more targeted support where it is needed most and will ensure that OSI utilizes its limited resources in the strategic delivery of services that are more appropriate and effective.

ACCESS Virtual Learning (Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, and Students Statewide) is an education initiative of the Alabama Department of Education. It provides opportunities and options for Alabama public high school students to engage in Advanced Placement (AP), elective, and other courses to which they may not otherwise have access or be able to schedule.

This year’s conference is a week-long, in-person event that provides attendees with opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions, participate in in-depth training sessions, and learn from leading experts across the education spectrum.
