Apps pre-Loaded on your iPad

Airway Ex is a virtual airway and intubation app
Browzine connects users to journal subscriptions from UAB Libraries. Browse journals, create bookshelves and reading lists and stay up to date with the literature. For help setting up Browzine, see the Browzine page of this guide.

Two textbooks will be provided to incoming residents via Kindle. A link to the e-book will arrive in your e-mail. Additional e-books can be accessed for free from other platforms via the Anesthesiology LibGuides or the library's catalog. Personal e-books can be purchased using PDA funds. 

Intune Company Portal: required app used to encrypt your mobile device so you can receive UAB email and use charting apps on your device. All resident iPad minis have already been enrolled so all you need to do is enter your uabmc email address and password when prompted on your iPad. To set up Intune on a personal phone or other device, contact Anesthesia IT for more information.

MDCalc: Clinical calculator and decision support tool featuring calculators and decision support tools.
MedHub: provides residents with the ability to plan their rotation schedules, keep track of their educational progress, and communicate with other residents, faculty members, and administrators.
Medscape: The popular point-of-care tool, Medscape, features medical news, sections for drugs, diseases & conditions, clinical procedures, a drug interaction checker and an easy search function. Individual registration required.
My Well-Being Index from Mayo Clinic is an anonymous tool that evaluates multiple dimensions of distress in 9 questions allowing physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess well-being.
Citrix Receiver will be configured by Anesthesiology IT for access to Powerchart.
RSASecurID: Use your RSA secure ID app so to log into PowerChart. Contact Anesthesia IT for more information.

Ultrasound POC Education - Philips includes ultrasound educaiton tutorials

UpToDate is available to UAB residents through the UAB Health System. You must create a personal account through the institution's subscription to access the mobile app. For setup help see the UpToDate page of this guide. You will periodically need to renew your personal UpToDate account. To do so, return to UpToDate via the library and log into your personal account.
