Information about apps and setup for Anesthesiology Department iPads for faculty and residents

Tips for Setting Up Your iPad

1. Slide to Setup

2. Tap “English”

3. Tap “United States”

4. Tap “uabhs_public”

5. Accept uabhs_public agreement

6. Successful Connection, tap “Done”

7. Remote Management Explanation, tap “Next”

8. Provide your @uabmc.edu username/password, tap “Next”

​9. Create and confirm passcode

10. Sign In To / Create Apple ID

11. Enable Location Services 

12. Welcome to iPad, tap “Get Started”

13. Maas360 will automatically install

14. After installation, Tap “Maas360” 
 15. Allow Maas360 to access location information
 16. Allow Maas360 to send notifications
17. Tap “Docs” 
18. Tap “Corporate Distributed”
19. Tap “Anesthesiology Documents” 
20. All Jump Starts and guides will appear here
21. Press the “Home” Button, then tap “App Catalog”
22. Scroll Down and Tap “Anesthesiology Resident” App Bundle

23. Tap “Get All”

24. This installation will appear, tap “OK”

25. Press the “Home” Button to see all apps

26. When asked, allow app and book assignment from UABHS

27. Tap the “Mail” app

28. Enter your @uabmc.edu password when asked

29. Press the “Home” Button to see all apps

30. Swipe to the left and tap “Settings”
31. Tap “Wi-Fi”, then tap the “i” icon beside uabhs_public
32. Tap “Forget This Network” and then confirm by tapping

More Resources to Come

Shortly after you receive your iPad you will receive two additional resources:

  • Miller's Basics of Anesthesia for Kindle. You will receive an e-mail with a link to your Kindle copy of Basics of Anesthesia. You can open the book in the Kindle app on your iPad, in the Kindle web reader, and in the Kindle app for PC or Mac.  

In your CA1 year, you will receive two new resources:

  • Morgan & Mikhail's Clinical Anesthesiology for Kindle. You will receive an e-mail with a link to your Kindle copy of Morgan & Mikhail. You can open the book in the Kindle app on your iPad, in the Kindle web reader, and in the Kindle app for PC or Mac.
  • TrueLearn: a question bank for the anesthesia in-training exam, will be available to you starting in your CA1 year.
