To connect to content from UAB Libraries, it is best to start on our website. You can search our collections from the front page without a login. However, when you click to access an article or Ebook or if you start at a database, you will be asked to login. Just type your Blazer ID and password to connect.
At some point you will run into an article you need but we don't have. To solve this problem we have Interlibrary Loan. This service will allow you borrow the article from another library and have it emailed to you. All you have to do is start the request and provide as much information as you can.
Need help? You can contact me or chat with another librarian anytime you need help. Need something more than the answer to a quick question? Make an appointment with me where we can sit down and go over your questions about research or citations without interruption.
The University Writing Center (UWC), located on the 1st floor of Sterne library, assists with any kind of writing and any stage of the writing process. Services are free to UAB students and faculty. Students can come for in-person help or book virtual appointments. In addition, the UWC offers writing groups and special events for both faculty and students.
How to Use the Scheduling System
UAB Libraries has resources curated for particular subjects, topics, and courses.
For lists of databases based on subject, type, or provider, go to the A-Z Databases list and use the dropdown menus.
If you are looking for online access to journals through UAB, use the search box on the E-Journals page. If you cannot find access to a particular journal, email me for assistance.
UAB Libraries and their wonderful librarians have curated research guides. Research guides requested by UAB faculty for particular courses and subjects can be found here as well as how-to and special topic guides on everything from citation styles to copyright to media literacy.
Links to Databases, E-Journals, and Research Guides can be found on the UAB Libraries homepage.
