Create Account

Follow the steps below to create an EndNote Online account.

  • Display the Edit menu (Windows) or the EndNote 21 menu (Mac) then select Preferences (#1).

  • On the left side of the EndNote preferences box, click on Sync (#2). 
  • Click on the Enable Sync button (#3).

  • Click on the Sign Up button (#4).

  • Enter your UAB email address then click on the Submit button (#5).

  • Enter your first and last name and create a password then click on the I Agree button (#6).

  • Verify that your account credentials have been added (#7) and that the correct library will be synced (#8) then click on the OK button (#9).

Sync Library

Follow the steps below to sync the desktop and online EndNote library.

  • Click on the link for either the new or classic version then enter your email and password.

  • In EndNote, display the Library menu and select Sync.

  • Verify that the desktop library has been synced by checking for the references in the online account.

Share Groups & Library

If the library is synced (available in the cloud), it is possible to share groups using the classic version of EndNote online or share the entire library using EndNote desktop.
