In order for users to access many of the library's resources, it is necessary to create a persistent link (PURL) that will identify a user as being affiliated with UAB.
Adding the library proxy server snippet (http://uab.idm.oclc.org/login?url=) to the correct PURL for each database/journa lallows you to directly link someone to a subscription based resource like a journal article or online book. The snippet will authenticate UAB faculty, staff, students so they can access the resource remotely.
