Interested in learning to use the 3D printers in the UAB Libraries? Register for 3D printer training: https://libcal.library.uab.edu/calendar/techlabs.  We offer training workshops for beginners and people with a few layers of 3D printing experience.

Introductory training sessions are scheduled to last an hour and a half and cover the following topics:

  • Review of the UAB Libraries 3D Printing Guidelines
  • Safety requirements for 3D printing spaces in the UAB Libraries
  • Access to the browser-based mangement system 3DPrinterOS
  • The process for setting up and submitting filament prints in 3DPrinterOS

All participants will be asked to review, certificy, and submit the UAB Libraries 3D Printing Guidelines electronically via Adobe Sign as a part of 3D printer training. Failure to certify and submit the guidelines through Adobe Sign will result in a user's access being blocked in 3DPrinterOS.

If you register for face-to-face training please plan to wear long pants and closed-toed, closed-heeled shoes to sessions in Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences, and closed-toed, closed-heeled shoes to sessions in Sterne Library.

We can't wait to see what you print!
